Feeding your Hermits
Hermit crabs are scavengers and eat a varied diet in the wild and need lots of protein, plant protein and calcium to be happy and healthy. Store brand foods contain preservatives that are not good for hermit crabs and can lead to stress and death. Hermit crabs also do not like to eat the same foods more then a few days in a row so if you provide the same diet everyday they may stop eating. Here is a list of some foods hermit crabs enjoy and that are easy to find and less expensive then commercial brand foods. There are many other things you can feed your hermits, this is just a short list of things I feed that are safe.
Things to Avoid
