Hi There!
I never thought when I started out with wanting to own 1 hermit that it would spiral into what it is today. Once I seen those little black eye's I knew I was sold on a tiny shelled crab. I rescued my first hermit in April and by December I owned 6 species in 2 large tanks and have been educating people on hermits and trying to raise awareness in pet stores, social media, online stores and even to people that want nothing to do with them just to try and spread the word on their proper care and habitat requirements.
At one time I knew nothing about hermit crabs and today I feel like a walking encyclopedia of hermit crab information. I am however no expert and the art of crabbing comes with learning something new about hermits everyday. When you own hermits you have many many questions and I like to ask questions! I also enjoy reading and studying my hermits in their captive environment and have learned much of my information from the hermits themselves. I love all animals and have had pets all my life, currently along side my 2 hermit crab colonies I own 3 rescued dogs and a European Starling I hand-raised that became a human imprint. I have also worked with animals my entire life and have worked a variety of animals from fish, reptiles, birds & small mammals. I currently work at a veterinarian hospital as an assistant/animal caretaker. I have experience as a dog kennel worker, experience in dog daycare and behavior, I have done bird rehab and rescue and volunteer work with animals.
I created this site to help educate others about hermit crabs and what they need to survive and to show how much fun they are to own as pets. All the pictures are of my own tanks and crabs and are my own personal property along with any information I have written is expressed in my own words and is not to be used in other forums, sites, blogs, magazines, books and is considered copyright material.
I hope you enjoy my site and keeping hermit crabs as much as I do!
